India is home to 194.6 million undernourished people, the highest in the world! Although India produces sufficient quantity of food, because of their poverty and limited purchasing power, they are incapable of investing in meals, while also keeping enough savings to run the household.

Lions Club of Nurmahal City, 321D conducted a service project in the region, to help feed the hungry and support the families. “One should not die of hunger”.

Extending the mission of the Lions Clubs International Foundation, the club undertook a campaign to provide ration and grocery items to the needy.

Under the steering guidance of the Dynamic District Governor of district 321D Lion Sudeep Garg, the members got together and agreed to provide ration ( grocery ) to 25 needy families, living in the slums of Nurmahal on October 15th, 2016.

Dedicated Region Chairperson was Chief Guest at the occasion. Besides President of the club Lion Ram Tirath Sharma, President municipal committee Nurmahal Jagat Mohan Sharma, Senior Lion O.P.Kundi and 22 Lion members were also present.

The club had previously engaged in similar activities in the past, providing support for the marriage of two needy girls, providing medicines and fruits to the inmates of a Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Nurmahal and Rs. 51,000/- to the Gaushala temple in Nurmahal for the community.

The club continues to engage in service activities for the community and at a recent board meeting of directors conducted on November 3rd, 2016, the club decided to provide 100 blankets to the needy families living at slums of Nurmahal. This activity was conducted on November 8th, 2016.
