Lions Clubs Dist. 323 A-1 organizes Special Olympics – Mega Sports Events

Lions Clubs Dist. 323 A-1 organized Special Olympics – Mega Sports Events at Priyadarshini Park, Nepean Sea Road, Mumbai, on 17th December, 2014. The event witnessed participation of over 700 Differently Abled Children, from 30 schools across Mumbai in various events, like running, long jump and other sporting activities.

True to the Lions credo, ‘helping where help is needed’, Lions were assisting and motivating children through the event bringing joy to both; the children and their parents. This 18th annual event was sponsored by Bank of India, which was represented by Mr. D.S. Shekhawat, Assistant General Manager, Bank of India, Churchgate branch and was cheered by the Commissioner of Social Welfare Mamta S. Shere

Mr. Neville Mehta, International Secretary, Lions Clubs International, ISAAME, who was present on the grounds said, “I’m so glad that Lions are able to bring so much joy to these real champions. Seeing their enthusiasm gives new meaning to where there is a will, there is a way”.
