LEOS – Participate In the First Leo Forum and Contribute To Building the Organization

Bringing together knowledge and experience from different regions of the world, Lions Clubs International presents the first edition of the Leo ISAAME Forum, 2016, amidst the magnificent cultural heritage country of Sri Lanka.

Themed "Excellence Through Innovation", the forum will drive an open dialogue aimed at developing leadership skills, imparting training and knowledge and encouraging the participation of youth in the social affairs of the world. The event will be organized simultaneously with the 44th ISAAME forum, 2016 from 30th of November to the 4th of December, 2016.

The event schedule offers significant insights into the culture of the country with adequate professional engagements and discussions during the five day event.

On 1st December, 2016 the Leo Forum will officially commence, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), where the delegates will be able to interact with the Leaders participating in the Leader’s Forum. The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Hon. Ranil Wickremesinghe will be the Chief Guest at the event, which will also see the attendance of a leading business entrepreneur and pioneer of an international clothing chain, Ms. Otara Gunawardhena, among other dignitaries. The Leader’s Forum will be an interactive session discussing in detail, the integration of service and youth to promote creativity and innovation.

The second half of the day will be a Business Session understanding the shift in the world economy from service oriented to a more leadership oriented, with the intention of instilling responsibility and drive within the young Leos. The agenda of the session is associated with the discussions around the need for an interaction between the post and pre-millennial generations, to inspire a movement towards innovation, technological advancements and change.

The sessions scheduled for 3rd December is a participative session where International President, Lion Robert E Corlew will interact with the Leos. The Leos along with other delegates will join them in a tour of the Sri Lankan Parliament followed by lunch hosted by the Hon. Speaker, Karu Jayasuriya.

The schedule for the remaining days involves entertainment and cultural programs through which the International delegates can learn about the traditions in Sri Lanka. Leo delegates will visit prominent historical locations and will pay respect at religious sites. They will also participate in the ISAAME Lions Parade along with the traditional gala dinner.

The Leos are excited to be conducting the first Leo Forum and are hopeful to ignite a sense of leadership, accountability and self-drive, that will develop individuals that are empathetic, proactive and principled to stand up for what is right.

With participation of 200 foreign Leo delegates from the ISAAME Region and 150 Local Leo delegates, the first edition is sure to be an impactful event. Tickets to the forum are available online.
