Inauguration of a Computer Lab by the Lions Life Charitable Trust – MD 320 and MD316

In celebration of the Centennial year, the Lions Life Charitable Trust, brought to fruitation a project initiated by our 1st International Vice President, Naresh Agarwal by inaugrating a computer lab for school children on 24th October, 2016 at St. John’s College of Humanities and Sciences (SJCHS).

To foster and enrich the lives of many school going children of the area, in its maiden initiative, the Trust was able to provide 8 computers with printer, scanner and a power back up, procured through an eWaste generation activity from RAMKY.

The RAMKY Group is an environment and waste management organization that converts electronic waste into brand new computers and other electronic gadgets.

The Lions Life Charitable Trust had collected and procured old computers from club members and corporate houses and handed them over to RAMKY. Under this project, the Trust then designed a special curriculum with an examination module to be taught by a professional teacher hired and paid by the Trust for imparting knowledge among the students.

Computer education will be taught from Standard I through X, along with special classes at the Life Center, a Center providing LIFE to school going children, dropouts and college students.

This project bore fruit, under the governorship of Lion Ramesh Lakshmanan who is currently the Chairman of the Trust & MCT of MD 320, ably supported by Industrialist & CII politburo representative of Telangana State, Lion Harish Reddy as Secretary and Lion V Padmaja, a vibrant home designer as Treasurer and finally, PDG & Industrialist Lion A Bhaskar Reddy as Chief Mentor of the Trust.

With a membership of 110 and counting, representing more than 10 districts of MD 320 & MD 316, the Trust aims at reaching out with more such activities that not only benefit the people, but also care for the environment.
