Centennial Service challenge- Lions Club of Sircilla

“Only a life lived in the service of others is worth living”. The Lions clubs have been successfully serving local communities, meeting humanitarian needs, encouraging peace and promoting international understanding.

To celebrate our 100th anniversary, we aim to achieve our Centennial Service Challenge objective of serving 100 million individuals by June 2018.

Lions Clubs in India have undertaken various projects and carried out several activities to support the cause. Taking this initiative, a step forward, Lions Club of Sircilla, a family club with 104 members adopted  a village by name Peddur, under the Sircilla mandal of Karimnagar Revenue District.

Several activities were carried out for the Centennial Service Challenge by the Lions Club of Sircilla. It was a phenomenal effort by the lions helping construct 384 toilets for the households of this village.

Multi-speciality health camps were conducted in the village with the motto of giving special care to the people who do not enjoy the privileges of medical facilities. Special attention was given on pregnant ladies imparting information on the importance of hospital deliveries and balanced diet. An eye screening camp was conducted for 250 students of Government school. Another youth awareness camp was conducted for 50 young people about different employment opportunities and technological advancements.

Be it serving food to 1000 people under hunger relief programme or planting 100 saplings with tree guards, Lions of Sircilla have helped beautify this village and of the community and better the lives of the people.

The Centennial Service Challenge is an opportunity for Lions to celebrate our 100th anniversary by doing what we do best – serving others. We request other Lion members and Clubs to join us and reach the goal mutually and make this world an altogether better place to live in .
