Appeal to support relief efforts following the disastrous earthquake in Nepal

Posted by:Neville Mehta

As you may be aware, an earthquake measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale hit Nepal on 25th April, 2015. While tremors were felt in some parts of Northern India, the damage and loss of life and property has been unprecedented in the mountain country of Nepal.

It is difficult to relate to the scale of despair being experienced by thousands of injured and countless of homeless survivors. While one may feel a sense of helpless in a situation like this, you can actually do a lot by helping those who have volunteered their time and expertise to providing relief, medical assistance or temporary rehabilitation to the affected.

I humbly request people across the globe to support our earthquake relief efforts. And assure you of our total commitment to the victims of this disastrous earthquake in Nepal. As the global leader in humanitarian service, Lions Clubs International is uniquely qualified to provide immediate assistance.

My message to all those affected in Nepal and the Northern state of India is “help is on the way”.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families and the Lions of Nepal in their time of need.
