Lions Club of Panvel is the Patriarch of the Lions Movement in Raigad district. Initiated in 1965, the club has the distinction of two active wings, namely LEO Club and Lion Lady Auxiliary Club.
The club has established the Lions Children Park in Panvel, a one of its kind landmark project that is well appreciated by the locals. Here, the club initiates the hoisting of the national flag on every Republic and Independence Day in an attempt to inculcate a sense of national pride in the citizens.
Additionally, in an endeavor to educate and expand the minds of the local Adivasi children, the club has introduced them to the city, which would otherwise not be possible by conducting over 45 Mumbai Darshan trips, together with the Lions Club of Walkeshwar. The Lions Club of Panvel has also been organizing the annual Table Tennis Tournament for the past 21 years, from where many players have reached national and international levels.
The Lions are also responsible for conducting 45 annual Cataract Operation Camps restoring the sight of over 55,000 needy and poor people.
