Initiated in 2010, the Lions Club of Navi Mumbai Spice continues to render outstanding service to the community. The 37 member team is dedicated to the service of its community and has undertaken several projects that have been instrumental in making the community better.
Lions Club of Navi Mumbai Spices focuses on activities related to hunger, distribution of food grains to orphanages, Adivasi residential schools and transgender ashrams, distribution of notebooks and stationary for better education, Cancer awareness and detection camps and health and eye checkup camps for rural Adivasi school children.
Through the SightFirst platform, the club provides eye care by means of eye glasses to improve vision. However, the clubs has also initiated Netra Yoga; a form of eye exercise that restores vision of those wearing glasses. This special camp is organised for people above 40 years of age, senior citizens, school and college students who are prone to suffering from eye problems at an early age.
The club is also instrumental in conduction reading action programmes for children living in slums and children of daily wage construction workers, facilitating basic education for these children.
Another signature project that the Lions have undertaken is providing blankets to street dweller in winter and distribution of food.
Lions Club of Navi Mumbai Spice provides individuals the opportunity to serve the underprivileged in their community and impact the lives of thousands of families.
