Lions Club Of Navi Mumbai Diamonds was formed in 2003 and has been one of the Leading Clubs in District 323 A2. Over the past 10 years the club has been conducting on ground activities for the betterment of Society.
Each year the clubs organises at least one blood donation drive in collaboration with the Dr. D. Y. Patil Hospital Blood Bank, supplying blood to needy patients free or at concessional rates, this in addition to the regular medical check-up camps for diabetes and eye care that the club organises through the year.
The Club has also adopted Chinchwali Vanwasi Ashram and has constructed four toilet blocks at Cinchavali Vanwasi Aashram School, Panvel, for Adivasi students of the area. Additionally, the club has regularly been providing aid for needy students by means of school fees, books, stationary etc.
The Lions initiated a teaching programme for children of construction workers under the Lions Clubs International's Project Reading Action Plan (RAP) that is impacting the lives of hundreds of students in the area. The Lions also works closely with senior citizens ensuring their wellbeing and health is taken care of.
