Lions Club of Chembur Diamonds, a young club of four years is made up of 56 Lions and 31 Lioness members. This 87 member strong team works closely with the underprivileged, striving to make their lives better.
Working towards the betterment of its community, the club has adopted the Medical Centre in Thakkar Bapa Colony, Kurla as a permanent project, and has provided the centre with X ray machine, dental chair and a Pathology testing laboratory that offers its services to underprivileged residents of the area.
While the club has been busy planting trees, distributing food grains to the less fortunate, conducting blood donation drives and engaging kids in various activities, the club works closely with underprivileged women; successfully helping over 60 families by empowering their women and giving them a livelihood, through its sustained sewing machine distribution program that has proved to be an effective means of livelihood for these women.
While the club has effectively helped over 3,000 people over the past four years, they are especially proud of helping the women of their community.
